Abstract

Humor is a universal human experience, yet it manifests differently across languages and cultures. This study explores how linguistic and cultural variations shape humor while identifying universal themes that transcend language barriers. Through an analysis of idiomatic expressions, wordplay, cultural contexts, and examples from different languages, the study reveals how humor reflects societal values, norms, and traditions. Universal themes like irony, absurdity, and physical comedy demonstrate shared human experiences. By understanding humor's linguistic diversity, we foster greater appreciation of cultural differences and connections across societies.
