Pragmatics plays a crucial role in language teaching by focusing on the use of language in context and helping learners understand how to communicate effectively in different situations. It helps students develop their communicative competence by teaching them how to use language appropriately based on social and cultural norms. Incorporating pragmatic awareness into language teaching can enhance students’ ability to interpret and produce language accurately in real-life interactions. By addressing pragmatics in language instruction, teachers can help students avoid misunderstandings and navigate complex communication situations more successfully.
